Still keeping up with the daily drawings. My son just loves insects at the moment, so we are daily examining/photographing insects found around the house. Unfortunately it was a different kind of bug he brought home when he started school after the holiday…
So for a while my drawings where only done at home. I did a few bug drawings. I used some of the macro photographs we had taken and our new collection of insects in acrylic was also drawn.
I prefer the drawings made from the macro photos. Maybe not surprisingly the drawings drawn from the acrylic blocks looks a little “dead”. It’s also really hard drawing something that small, much easier when you can blow a picture up on a screen. I normally prefer to draw from life, but maybe insects should be the exception to the rule.
